Week 111 - Pigs

  • I had my first gig for a couple of months this week. I met Andy in Kentish Town for some beers and then saw Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs (that’s seven pigs) at the Forum. They were very loud, very shouty, good in parts, but not really my cup of tea. I now know that “Doom Metal” isn’t for me.
  • Still, a few nice pints out on a Friday night are always welcome. Less welcome was the unexpected (to me) train strikes, meaning a long detour to get home and a £30 taxi.
  • This was the second gig this year, after Mogwai, that I’ve worn ear plugs. At my age, with super-loud bands, they’re necessary.
  • I put my football boots on and had a kickabout in the park with H on Sunday. C rode his bike on the path then had snacks on the picnic blanket with his mummy. 24C in October - I may even be a little sunburnt.
  • And then a tense 90 minutes to end the week as Arsenal finally beat Man City in the league. It wasn’t pretty, but who cares? The hope is back 😬
