Week 17: Beds

  • This week it was C’s turn for the school Christmas play. His nursery class did the classic nativity and he played an angel. He got stuck in, belting out all the songs and doing all the actions. High cute factor.
  • The boiler leak was fixed. £300 and 25 minutes for the man to make the little gauge stay in the green segment.
  • I had my booster vaccine. The queue at the local doctors surgery snaked around the corner and, despite booking a time-slot, I still had an hour’s wait in the cold. I don’t mind really: it’s good to see people taking it seriously.
  • I felt a bit groggy from the booster for 48 hours, perhaps also suffering from being outside in the drizzle. It’s hard not to assume you have Covid, especially with Omicron’s cold-like symptoms. I took a negative LFT test just in case.
  • The boys have new beds. I built a flat-packed bunk bed for H and his brother had his hand-me-down “big boy” bed. Of course, both boys wanted to sleep together in the bunk beds, but we had to separate them. Far too much chat and excitement!
  • Last week of work before Christmas and then a lovely week off.
