- I was back in our Cambridge office this week for a couple of face-to-face chats and a free lunch. The company are announcing back-to-office measures this year. I’m hoping to be granted an exception to remain mostly remote. Whatever happens it seems there’s an increasing inertia towards office-working again 😢
- I had to ask H to repeat himself this week after saying he’d tried to ask “Cop-ilot” a question. We worked out he was referring to Copilot. Hey Microsoft, some free branding advice: Cop-ilot is much more fun to say.
- I’ve moved my primary domain and imported my email from Google across to Fastmail. The only snag was I’d set some old labels in Gmail to be hidden from IMAP, meaning I missed some emails. It wasn’t hard to re-import. I’ve really no complaints. I quite like their native macOS and iOS apps for email, although I still use the stock calendar apps.
- In other home tech hygiene news, I’ve bought and set up a Yubikey as another form of MFA. It was easy to add it to 1Password, Fastmail, Cloudflare and AWS. I still have my phone for TOTP but this is another factor just in case.
- The Traitors ended with a brilliant conclusion. I was waiting for Stephen to stab Rachel in the back, but he opted to share the prize. Clever man. He’ll likely get much more in media earnings as an honourable winner.
- Arsenal were impressive beating Inter away on Tuesday, and were then frustrating losing at home to Manchester United. Nails are being bitten.
