I’m off to Wembley later to see Oasis 🥳 which completes the Britpop Big Four of gigs within the last two years: Blur (Wembley in 2023), Suede (Ally Pally in 2024), Pulp (O2 in June) and now Oasis.
“Threads is a gripping, miserable experience”. @verge@mastodon.social on Threads (not that one), the post-apocalyptic 1984 British film, still the most harrowing thing I’ve watched. I own it on DVD. I must watch it again.
As the father of a Thomas-mad toddler, I enjoyed this retrospective in the New Yorker, especially how it remembers the incredibly dark episode where the Fat Controller bricks up a rain-shy Henry in a tunnel:
